A Little Optimism

Russell Scarbrough A high-quality set that bears repeated listening. Brendan's trombone is olympian, but the ensemble playing and writing is what's so attractive. Favorite track: Frank-ly.

about

The mission of this recording was to bring a group of people together that mean the world to me after about a year and a half of the pandemic. I can’t thank them enough for agreeing to converge on Western New York for just two short days to play and record my music. The title track was written at the height of the isolation we experienced during the pandemic. The sentiment was not only necessary for myself and all of us during that time period, but one that I hope we can all carry with us as we go forward in the next decades.
